Q: Are you accepting new patients?
A: Yes
Q: Do you accept my insurance?
A: Piedmont Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology Center is considered a specialist. Check with your insurance carrier before making an appointment to determine if your insurance requires a referral. We do not accept Well Path, Aetna, or RJR Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you do have RJR Blue Cross Blue Shield, we may accept your insurance if you have a referral from Baptist Medical Center. **Note we do accept Blue Cross Blue Shield

Q: Do I need a referral?
A: Yes, if your insurance requires it.
Q: Do you accept payment plans?
A: Yes, for skin cancer patients.
Q: I have no insurance, what price would I have to pay?
A: We offer a special self pay rate.
Q: Does my insurance cover my procedure?
A: We can contact your insurance company to find out if they cover your procedure. However, this is still no guarantee of payment.
Q: What if my insurance denies payment?
A: We will appeal any denial that is medically necessary for you. If your benefits do not cover a certain procedure due to a medical necessity, you will be responsible for paying the bill.
Q: How long will it take for my biopsy results?
A: 7-10 days
Q: Will I hear from you if there is no concern from my biopsy?
A: No news is good news, if there is any follow-up treatment needed, we will call you to schedule. You can always call if you have questions to verify the results.
Q: What happens if I have a diagnosis of skin cancer from my biopsy?
A: Any patient with a diagnosis of skin cancer will be called by our lab staff. The treatment that is needed to remove the skin cancer will be explained to the patient in length. Please feel free to call if any questions arise.
Q: Are there any extra charges for services performed by your lab that I should be concerned about?
A: There is a charge for the initial biopsy and a charge for a slide read if your slide needs to be sent off for a second opinion. If the biopsy is sent off for a second opinion, that office will bill your insurance. If they do not except your insurance, you could be charged up to $300.
Q: I want an estimate for a cosmetic procedure?
A: We charge $50 for a cosmetic consult fee. This money will come off the price of your first procedure.
