Piedmont Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology Center is considered a specialist. Check with your insurance carrier before making an appointment to determine if your insurance requires a referral. We do not accept Aetna (unless secondary to Medicare).

We offer a special self pay rate.
We can contact your insurance company to find out if they cover your procedure. However, this is still no guarantee of payment.
We will appeal any denial that is medically necessary for you. If your benefits do not cover a certain procedure due to a medical necessity, you will be responsible for paying the bill.

No news is good news, if there is any follow-up treatment needed, we will call you to schedule. You can always call if you have questions to verify the results.
Any patient with a diagnosis of skin cancer will be called by our lab staff. The treatment that is needed to remove the skin cancer will be explained to the patient in length. Please feel free to call if any questions arise.
There is a charge for the initial biopsy and a charge for a slide read if your slide needs to be sent off for a second opinion. If the biopsy is sent off for a second opinion, that office will bill your insurance. If they do not except your insurance, you could be charged up to $300.
We charge $50 for a cosmetic consult fee. This money will come off the price of your first procedure.
